I love art. I remember walking around all the galleries in London super pregnant on my maternity leave. My last few days just waiting to meet my little bump. They are so peaceful I love finding a bit of refuge when I feel a little overwhelmed by something. You can totally escape walking around them. Everyone is just focused on what they are looking at not looking at each other. Which in London is a total escape.

Mr B and I always take the girls on Sunday City trips so off we went a few weeks ago to The Tate Modern. The tubes are so quiet on Sundays. We actually started with a coffee and let the girls run around St James Park. Being there at 9am is so beautiful and peaceful. Sometimes its nice to have a change of scenery from the usual local farmers market.

We went Urban Fairy Door hunting on the way. Rose Bay loved the idea of City fairies vs the Alexandra Palace country fairies. We discussed the difference at length and decided the main one was the shoes. Urban Fairies wear trainers and Alexandra Palace Country fairies wear ballet pumps.

I love the space of the Turbine Hall, the girls always love running around it shrieking with happiness. Mr B and I just love watching them be children. They are becoming so close now.

There is lots to do as you walk around. We spent ages building houses just by the Turbine Hall.

We also really enjoyed being part of a live art exhibition with Bloomberg Interactive. All around the Tate there are interactive digital things to do. We sent a video to their Granny & Grandpa of us and also drew our own art that instantly got uploaded to on online gallery. Which is cleverly placed next to the cafe so Mr B & I got to have 5  minutes peace and an actual conversation.

One of my favourite paintings. It has actually inspired to take up painting again. I used to love painting for myself. My paintings never really see the light of day, but it is something I love doing for me. So I got my easel out and cleaned it up ready to go. The last time I painted was before Rose was born on maternity leave. I drew my little bump a fairy not knowing she would be my little Rose Bay.

Rose Bay even became a little piece of Art work.

We finished with a stone skimming on the Thames Beaches and a windy walk across the Millennium Bridge. Total family bliss.IMG_8740
