You may have noticed that denim is everywhere. It’s such a huge trend for Spring and I couldn’t be happier. I love denim, super hard-working and perfect for so many outfits.
So I was really thrilled when I was invited to review the Donna Ida Denim Clinic. Donna is London’s Denim Queen, super passionate about finding every one their perfect jeans. Since opening her first store in 2006 in Draycott Avenue, she now has two further stores and a brilliant online site. Quite an inspiring business woman. The Denim clinic is a complimentary service that you can book in with Donna herself, which I think is an amazing service. I love how involved Donna is with her stores and how she is super keen to get involved with her customers.
I was a little nervous to meet such an established name in the Fashion Industry, especially as I went to the Elizabeth Street in a hurry and then was late. It was one of those mornings in our home. So when I walked in to the Denim I was met with a wonderful smile and Donna’s infectious enthusiasm for all things denim.
I was in denim heaven. The store is so wonderfully laid out with every type of denim you could ever need. Donna also has a brilliant eye for all the additions to your wardrobe which we all want. Cool slogan Tee’s, Bella Freud Cashmere and a new favourite of mine the 360 Cashmere boxy jumper in super bright colours.
The changing rooms are super spacious with little shelves for your bag and mobile phones which I loved. There is nothing worse than a small changing room and lying all your belongings on the floor.
So what to pick. I had a look online before I came and was super keen on the Honor Jeans. Low waisted with a lovely blue rinse and a little ripped I loved them. Even more so that I had to go down a size from my normal 28 waist. Donna talked me through it, that a lot of women should go down a size, as jeans grow and stretch with you.
The Honor jeans are super soft and feel like they have been my favourite jeans for forever. As it was the clinic there was a brilliant customiser there. I have been looking for some cropped jeans for while for Spring to wear with my flats. I chose to have my Honor jeans cropped to sit on the middle of my ankle bone and frayed at the bottom.
Whilst my dream jeans were being customised, I asked Donna to show my through her top 5 Spring Buys for you all. She has such an incredible eye I wanted to ask her for all the wonderful Musings readers.
Donna’s Top 5 Spring Picks
Thank Donna for such a wonderful morning. I have been wearing my jeans so much since my wonderful visit. I really recommend this for all my readers. It’s so important to get a well fitted pair of jeans, and to have the wonderful advice from the Queen of Denim is something I would do again to make sure I invested in the perfect pair.
There is more though. Donna has launched a Denim Election competition with one super lucky voter to receive a £1000 IDA Wardrobe. I know the dream, Oh how would I spend it..
So all you have to do is answer the question of which is the nation’s favourite rise. Are you #TeamHigh or #TeamLow. Do you prefer to wear your jeans nice and high, cinched in at the waist or would you prefer to jump into a pair of low waisted skinnies?
