The Black Coat. Your Winter classic. The coat that looks great with everything.

This Winter saviour can dress up a school look run and keep up with the smartness of a work look. I hunted high and low for my winter saviour and found mine from French Connection on the sale rail many years ago. It is the first thing to be dry cleaned from my Autumn boxes.

Coat, French Connection. White Shirt, Marks & Spencer. Jeans, Donna Ida. Shoes, Primark.

As mine is a Musings Vintage pieces. I wanted to do a little edit for you for all budgets as always. Although I have to say my spree in this weeks edit is one of my favourites from the Outnet. So if you are looking to invest I strongly suggest you give this trophy piece a go, remember you can always return.

My Spree

I love this coat so much. It would look perfect with so many things. My current vision would be a weekend look with skinny jeans, biker boots, thick knit jumper and slick of red lipstick. Perfection. It would look equally good for a mini skirt and super flat. It is a dream coat.

Wool blend coat, £450, Chalayan at The Outnet.

So Atterley Road has been on my radar for a while but this season it is fast becoming the place for chic women to do their smart shopping. If I am looking for inspiration for where to buy a classic piece to add to my capsule wardrobe, this online retailer is fast becoming my shopping destination. This classic wool wrap coat has a luxurious length to it. A cashmere wrap coat will always work hard in your wardrobe and I trust that for £180 it would have the quality to justify its price tag.

Black belted cashmere coat, £180, Atterley Road.

I just love the ease of this coat. I know it doesn’t have the luxe appeal of the Spree and Spurge options, but if you are looking for super simple throw over your jeans with an oversized knit this is great coat for you. It would also work really well over a maxi dress or midi skirt and polo neck. Just a little oversized with a slight double breast I love it and its cool french appeal.

Double breasted wool coat, £119, Mango.

Complete my look.

I am wearing my boyfriend shirt a lot at the moment, it seems to be quite a good go to piece in this delightfully warm transitional Autumn we are experiencing the great news is that is it still online at Marks & Spencer.

Boyfriend Shirt, £29.50, Marks and Spencer.

My Favourite Skinnies

From Queen of Denim Donna Ida. Super soft these are one of my favourite pairs of jeans. I had them cut and shredded at the ankle so I could wear a bold statement shoe or super flat with them. If you are looking to invest in a great pair of jeans these are a great one to try one. Donna runs a Denim Clinic as a free service, you can read more about that here.

Jeans, £185, Donna Ida.

A Flash of Red

My love of red shoes is apparent in my daughters pairs of Mary Janes around our home. I love them and love these highstreet alternatives of the designer ones I can’t quite purchase as I have ballet lessons and more to pay for my little loves.

Harper Shoes, £40, Asos.

Happy Shopping my Monday Must Haves and have a brilliant week. I often think that Monday really determines the intention for the rest of the week. So lets make today a fantastic and inspiring day so the rest of the week follows.
