The first day of Summer is here. Oh Joy and it is raining. I feel so lucky to work from home when it is raining like this. Sat in my lovely office hearing the rain on the rooftops. Although at times working from home can be a little isolating so pros and cons of course like everything in life.

I wanted to do a post on Monsoon as I went to the re-launched store on Saturday and there were so many brilliant pieces there that I know you will all really like. I was inspired after all you super positive comments on this jacket that i wore straight away. I am so in love with it and a few other pieces that I spotted.

The girls and I had such fun shopping together for some new Summer essentials. There was faceprinting and a little party vibe. I love watching them choose accessories and clothes. I often try and imagine what they will be like when they get a little older and there are glimpses of this when I see them trying things on, giggling at each other wearing hats or trying on sunglasses. I love being a mother to daughters.

I wore this on Saturday an posted it on Instagram and had so many comments. I think the reason that it was so popular is that it is the perfect cover up. It will go with so much of my wardrobe and is guaranteed to lift any look. The girls are wearing a lot of Monsoon kids accessories which are brilliant at the moment too. Little backpacks that are perfect for them to carry around their favourite bits and pieces, super sweet sunnies and hair accessories.

One lovely collection that I think is perfect for that tricky age 8yrs to 15yrs is the Storm Collection. It has some really beautiful boho style pieces. Although I know Rose is a little young for the collection it was refreshing to see a brand really do some age appropriate styles. I think this must such a tough age to dress as they really will start to assert the sartorial independence as they reach the teenage years. I sort of wish that it came in my size. I love Monsoon doing what they do best, just beautiful styles that look like you picked them up on holiday.

A utility dungaree. This is slightly older way to wear a dungaree I think for Rose. Which I quite like. I am really talking her up as the older sister at the moment to give her a little confidence in her role in our brood.

Storm Austin Dungarees, £24, Storm at Monsoon.

Just the prettiest blouse for Rose Bay.

Belinda Blouse, £22, Monsoon.

Throw it on and go. Rose Bay loves this dress. Again I think it is a little more of an older style and similar to so many of the things I wear. Super lightweight we brought it in a size 8 years so I know there is lots of room for her long legs to get even longer in it.

Storm Seattle Dress, £32, Monsoon.

Not super keen but she loves it, who am I to argue with a statement hair piece.

Corsage head dress, £5, Monsoon.

I am not a big fan of mini denim shorts as I do think they look too old for little ones. These are so pretty and almost look like a skirt.

Storm Dip Dye Lace Short, £24, Monsoon.

Martha is becoming a bit of an accessories editor I think. She loves an accessory. It has to be just so too. Mr B keeps telling me I need to reign her in a little but I think three is such a funny age, that I find her dramatic tendencies quite amusing. Plus you have to respect a girl who know what they want to wear.

Who can resist a pretty blouse and dungaree combination? Not me or my youngest apparently.

Penelope blouse, £22, Monsoon.

Just add the above.

Bertie Dungarees £24, Monsoon.

You can never have enough hair clips. I seem to find them everywhere. I recently had an really important meeting that I was so nervous about and I found one of Martha’s hair clips and it reminded me of why I was doing it all.

Hair clips, £5, Monsoon.

Just the right amount of twirl. Chambray, embroidery and has the twirl factor. Super pretty and would look great with a striped breton.

Channa Chambray Skirt, £26, Monsoon.

A backpack for her things. Martha carries the strangest bits around, who I am to argue as long as they are in her backpack not my pockets. This will be perfect for the festivals we are heading to this Summer.

Sophie Braid Backpack, £9.60, Monsoon.

I am a little obsessed with the Z for Accessorise collection. I have a beautiful necklace and bracelet set that I wear all the time and it never tarnishes. The collection is beautiful and so well priced. I really think it is one of my top stylist tips. Of course it is lovely to invest in pieces but this collection allows you to look like you have. These Rose gold hoops look identical to pair that i used to wear all the time and were triple the price.

Roe gold Medium Hoop earrings, £12, Accessorize.

The dream jacket. I wore this on Instagram and it was such a hit. I can see why. Sat here in my office listening to the rain. This is the perfect Summer cover up. I will be wearing mine with a little cashmere and jeans on a slightly colder day and with pretty summer dresses when the sun makes an appearance. I would really advise buying sooner rather than later as am sure this is going to be quick to go.

Aisha jacket, £79, Monsoon.

Ok, you can never have enough basket bags. Can You? This one has it all, Stripes, Pom Poms and the perfect size too.

Raffia Pom Pom Stripe Tote bag, £29, Accessorize.

I have so many pretty white boho blouses, so was drawn to this one. The embellishment is in gold and cream so looks perfect layered with gold chains. I promise this will be become a total Summer essential. I brought a size up too as I love it looking little slouchy and open on the neck.

Bella Embroidered Top, £49, Monsoon.

So I have a confession, I don’t buy designers sunglasses anymore. I honestly cannot really tell the difference. I love having fun with lots of different styles for the same price.

Nash Catmaster Sunglasses, £12, Accessorize.

This dress is the kind of dress that will always make you feel pretty no matter what. I have a few like this that are vintage and I love dressing them up or down. They look super cool with trainer or espadrille with tons of gold jewellery layered up. The perfect throw on dress for your holidays too as it is a lightweight cotton. I have visions of this with a messy up do and huge gold hoops earrings sipping a glass of something cold on holiday with just a slick of red lipstick. Oh, Holidays hurry up. For now, throw a denim jacket over the top and a Superego style trainer for a low key vibe.

Julia Print Dress, £69, Monsoon.

I do think it is really rare on the highstreet to find a store that has such pretty pieces for both Mother & Daughter. My little girl gang and I had such a brilliant tie trying things on, giggling at each other and walking out of the store feeling a million dollars in our own different way. Martha ready for fun as always with her little back pack, Rose Bay looking super polished with her headband she even went to school today wearing a locket with our photos in it and myself a little bit in love with my new summer cover up. I know we should be teaching our daughters all about self confidence and beauty from within but a little shopping is all part of the fun too.

Happy Shopping,

London Mum and my beautiful girl gang x
